On March 14th, the IRS released Announcement 2008-23,
containing the formal announcement that the IRS intends to begin issuing the
EGTRRA defined contribution opinion/advisory letters on March 31, 2008, for most
plans. Pre-approved defined contribution prototype and volume submitter plans
will have until April 30, 2010, to restate onto the new pre-approved EGTRRA plan
documents.
Upon issuance of our software's opinion/advisory letter, Atlantic Pension with
provide guidance to its clients with regards to this mandatory plan restatement
and the action required to remain compliant with the new regulations.
